Restoration - J22 Photos - Rudder

Restoration - The Rudder

To begin the restoration we wanted to do a few tests to make sure everything would turn out to our expectations. We started with the rudder, a small part of the boat that we could, sand, epoxy, primer and finish with Awlgrp. This test would cover the complete process of what we were about to do with the hull.

As you can see in the photos below there were a few cracks we had to take care of. After sanding with 80 grip paper, filling with Awlfair and the first coat of primer things are really starting to look good.

CAUTION! Always wear a respirator when sanding or painting.

Before & After Shots

We do have to admit the best part of this project is waiting for the UPS guy to show up around 2 pm and drop off the new toys. Today we received the new tiler. It's like Christmas!
